Very unique sculpture, extremely rare, featuring a Dragon which is the most vital, powerful and mystical creature in the Chinese Zodiac. The Dragon is gifted with innate courage, tenacity and intelligence. Dragon is a symbol of auspiciousness and highest power since ancient China. This sculpture is done with tremendously fine detail in sumptuous golden amber colors. Limited Edition, numbered 513 / 998, and signed as pictured. Measures 9'' Tall X 7'' Wide. Heavy and very well made, weighs approximately 7 pounds.

The Liuligongfang studio in Taiwan was formed back in 1987 by Chinese director Changi Yi and actress Loretta Yang to revive a Chinese art glass form. This interesting work of crystal art is from that studio, signed on the bottom in English (New Work Shop) and Chinese. Liuli (crystal glass) is made at a extremely high temperature and is more beautiful than regular glass. LIULI is the Embodiment of Spirit, Life, Philosophy and Passion.

The Story of Contemporary Liuli Starts Here. Founded in 1987 by studio glass artists Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi, LIULI has grown from a modest workshop in Taiwan to Asia's leading crystal art brand.

Liuli is the phonetic spelling of the Han Dynasty term for glass art and is used to honor the Chinese heritage and culture. Records show that thousands of years ago, the Chinese were highly skilled in pate de verre a. A lost wax casting but the craft was subsequently forgotten. Yang and Chang revived the craft and reintroduced it into the international arena.

Today, LIULI has 41 galleries worldwide , and Loretta's and Chang Yi's artworks are collected at more than 35 museums around the world. These include the Victoria and Albert museum in London, the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D. And the Bowers Museum in Orange County. LIULI has received multiple awards, some of which are iF Design and German Red Dot. Great Condition, very gently used as a display inside a cabinet, with no chips, cracks, or repairs, some surface scratches on base. We describe each item to the best of our ability, however.
